Everything from existentialism (branch of philosophy), despite one doesn't necessarily need to agree with everything.
Complexity, infinity, black holes, speed of light are other things, not to be confused. Also, don't let the question of reality vs. simulation scare you, there are good ways to deal with or approach it.
"I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams." (Hamlet -> universe in a nutshell) [didn't read]
Simulation or not...this kind of simulation, or another kind... Reality remains intact, as real as ever, whatever kind of simulation may be going on.
The very existence of a simulation presupposes a space of events in which it can exist, it presupposes movement and change and life, and as we also know there is something we call a “mind”, or consciousness, or awareness,or experience of existing.
Simulation is also going on everywhere, even in the earthly and everyday realms, simulated realities are everywhere and in multiple forms. The game called “the Sims” being one of many examples. The inner display of images and ideas resulting from reading these words being another.
So “simulation or reality?” is a kind of intellectual joke, of the “false dichotomy family”, a play with words, which like all jokes and plays can show us a lot when we study it in somewhat more depth.
Which in this case is a confirmation of the complete certainty of reality being real, and how this insight is untouched by the universe of possibilities of ways it could all be completely different from how we think it is or perceive it. Untouched by this, reality, “it is happening”, one way or the other. One way.
