I wrote 31. Looks like 3 is the secret magic limit at the moment beyond which Google/YouTube doesn't regard comments to be relevant. Who knows how much discussion Google/YouTube prevents every day, a major fail for a site that claims to function as a publisher.
OK, guys, I've now heard several things that made me increasingly suspicious about your seriousness in regard of an Engelbartian approach or complex, urgent world problems despite those themes continue to be invoked, I understand that you're people of the telephone and not participating in Zoom or on Facebook translates to lack of interest/seriousness on my side, and while @samhahn + @bridgetime might be too busy or have their reasons to not approve my comments on YouTube, I decided to "donate" those comments out of practical considerations at least for https://globalchallengescollaboration.org/gcc-action-group-meeting-1-building-a-website-together-for-the-whole-group-and-who-will-do-what/ and https://globalchallengescollaboration.org/gcc-action-group-meeting-2-glenn-and-joshua-how-to-post-past-zoom-calls/ where you face the same issue, that an admin needs to approve those comments, and because I verified that stupid Google/YouTube doesn't publish more than 3 comments of the same author under a video, I might go and publish my YouTube comments independently, but potentially only for recordings uploaded by @tammyleameyer as they're published under Creative Commons BY 3.0 (if participants of the calls don't agree with this licensing, that's your/Tammy's problem, and if that source material is pulled from with-under my references, then I would consider those comments too as "donated"/wasted as they're not too many). This weekend is a long one again for me, so I might have some time available to do something, while there's also other stuff to work on, but I wonder if you guys have an idea this time what could be worthwile in terms of curation, at least hesitantly for Tammy's uploads.
@skreutzer thanks for this discussion and for your feedback. Yes it’s difficult to connect without joining the Zoom calls. @skreutzer would you be able to come to any of the Zoom calls? Do you wanna be a Collaborator and work together? If you do how would you like to connect and take action together? How can I personally work with you together?
I also pondered a little about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGDySB98egM#t=1h57m12s (1:57:12) and stumbled over developing my little theory for the potential reasons for the difference between practical/abstract (maybe also known as "human vs. tool systems side" in certain other groups), men/women, which I could explore a little and put it out as an initial statement or to invite discussion, but if you've kind of resolved those questions and proceeded beyond that already, it wouldn't justify the time investment for yet another stupid gender/philosophy piece.
You can turn off video and listen 👂 or talk if you want. You could also use the chat feature in zoom and chat live here https://zoom.us/j/9388968691
@bridgetime I won't install Zoom on any of my own computers and don't want to do that on my work computer, but e-mail, Sutra, some chat (IRC works ad-hoc without setup), WordPress (?), Hangout/Meet/Skype might work (the latter if there is a room I can join as guest without account with the web version of the client). Maybe there could be other channels as well.
I think I wanted to schedule a call with your great calendar site you sent me the link to, this weekend would be good for it, need to look if there's a good time for you available.
Maybe if it works... we are slowly building a discussion forum on the new website that was created and we can chat there... hopefully it will pick up Mor steam soon on the “discussion forum” at https://globalchallengescollaboration.org/forums/forum/general-discussions/
We are still signaling to the group to come join this discussion forum and today we started discussing what Discussion topics to continue discussing on this forum... https://globalchallengescollaboration.org/forums/forum/general-discussions/
Things are moving slow and @skreutzer thanks for keeping this discussion going here on Sutra @lorenz will be coming back from Burning man soon and we can take sutra conversations to another level as well... we are learning how to signal each other...
Oh, yeah, that's great and works for me, I just didn't use the forum on the site because if it's empty, I assume that it can't be an "official" communication channel somebody is looking/reading at, but at least the two of us can agree that I can put my curation-related stuff to that place. Which is also nice because then you'll have it together with the other data, and if/how I keep a copy in case I should care enough would be kinda be my own problem ;-)
Don't worry, I'm moving even slower as there are much more other things going on for me as well, but that's exactly why I care a little bit about doing things "right", because time is too expensive/precious to waste.
Unfortunately @skreutzer there is no official channel to communicate other than the live Zoom calls we are working on changing this but for now only the Zoom calls are scheduled and acknowledged as official
We would love to take what we have learned as far as topic discussion threads and move some general discussions over to https://globalchallengescollaboration.org/forums/forum/general-discussions/
And more deep dive discussions to be continued here on Sutra as well as action discussions here on sutra and have general discussions on the website for talking about talking on https://globalchallengescollaboration.org/forums/forum/general-discussions/
And have more action discussions here
Doesn't really matter if there is something official-official, but if you guys keep talking about certain things, invoking certain topics or questions, I naturally want to engage to some extend, so it would be good and fair to tell me if that's actually welcomed and how/where you expect/accept engagement. Sam keeps asking if such policies can be organized in a framework, but somehow you have to bootstrap organizing the organizing, to start somewhere despite the imperfections and improve from there.
You don't need to change Zoom just because of me, to the contrary, I've heard from the recordings that it offers some unique features which are important for these conversations, and you're used to Zoom, so...there can be certainly other ways to have a similar communication effect for cases where Zoom isn't available. In fact, to be Engelbartian, video communication is a field to work/improve on as products like Zoom/Hangout/Skype aren't particulary innovative beyond the telephone or the 1968 demo.
The challenge I am faced with is the training of 2 team mates in my local nano project to do likewise. I thought of trying an ebook, a pdf or a web page rather than business card but I have a QR code that will also work to link a web page or a topic, action, or group discussion segment. yeeah
@atvpn I'm not sure if I understand correctly, are you saying that you considered handing out the team mates an e-book, PDF or web page, but instead gave or want to give them a business card with a QR code on it that will link them to an e-book, PDF or web page? Is it about being able to hand something physical/material?
@skreutzer If I understand it correctly the the statement I made about handing out QR codes is what I am faced with yes, With a gadget it can be a wireless transfer exchange.
