Sutra gives you a set of interactive features for building guided, conversational learning experiences — worksheets, self-paced courses, and step-by-step prompts that respond as participants move through them.
Available on the Silver and Gold plans (see our Membership plans here).
Getting started
Switch to Edit mode in the top menu and add your first piece of content, or the opening prompt of your interactive experience.
Place your cursor on the empty line below the content and click the + icon.
Important: Always add a new block. Never copy and paste an existing block — pasted blocks stay linked to the original, so any answers will be duplicated across both.
From the menu you can choose from three interactive blocks:
Discussion button
Continue button
Wait condition
Discussion button
A discussion button lets participants respond in line. After adding the block, click it and open Settings to control how responses behave. You can choose to:
Show all responses, or keep them private — responses are private by default. You can instead show responses before a participant answers, or let each participant decide whether their own response is visible to others.
Allow multiple responses per person.
Let participants skip the prompt.
Notify managers by email of each new post.
Hide the next content — participants only see the next question once they've answered the current one.
You can also edit the color, text, and alignment of each interactive block.
Continue button
Add a button that participants must click to reveal the next step or piece of content. As with every interactive block, you can customize its color, text, and alignment.
Wait condition
Set content to appear only after a specific date, or a set number of days. Each participant won't see the content below the wait condition until that time has passed.
Troubleshooting
Answers are appearing twice, or in the wrong place. This usually means a block was copied and pasted instead of added fresh — pasted blocks stay linked to the original and share the same responses. Delete the duplicate and add a new block from the + menu instead.
Participants can see each other's responses when they shouldn't. Responses are private by default. Open the block's Settings and make sure “show responses before participants respond” is turned off.
Participants are skipping ahead before answering. Turn on “Hide the next content” in the block's Settings so the next question only appears once they've responded.
You don't see the + icon or the interactive blocks. Make sure you're in Edit mode with your cursor on an empty line. Interactive blocks are available on the Silver and Gold plans.
