Send broadcast emails to your participants (can be used for announcements, newsletters, etc.)
How to send a broadcast email to all the members of the space.
The Broadcast feature is available on all paid plans (see our Membership plans here).
Broadcasts allow you to send personalized emails directly from Sutra to your program members. You can send email newsletters, program announcements, and helpful tips, just to name a few examples.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to use the Broadcast feature. You can use broadcast emails for your whole program space or any sub space inside your program. Please keep in mind that the broadcast email is sent to everyone within a particular space and is archived in the Broadcast area of that particular space.
Broadcast limits
Each paid plan includes a monthly broadcast allowance - the number of broadcast emails you can send per month, counted one per recipient. Your allowance resets at the start of each billing month.
Bronze - up to 5,000 broadcast emails per month.
Silver - up to 25,000 broadcast emails per month.
Gold - up to 100,000 broadcast emails per month.
The Forever Free plan doesn't include broadcasts - sending is available on Bronze and above. If you need a higher limit, contact support, and see our Membership plans for full details.
Create a Broadcast
You can choose to send this email to the Active/Interested or Pending members.
Schedule a broadcast for delivery.
All the broadcast emails are stored in the broadcast archive (Manage → Broadcast). Click on the three vertical dots on the right-hand side and choose if you want to delete email from the archive or duplicate it.
If you save your email as a draft or choose to send it on a particular date you’ll also have the option to edit it.
The participants will receive this broadcast email as if it’s sent from your email address. If there are several managers in the space, you’ll be able to select whom to send this email from. Please note that your participants will be able to reply to the email that gets sent out as a broadcast, so if there are multiple managers, select the person who will be able to respond to any replies.
TIP: You can also send a preview of the message to Managers before sending it to members:
Troubleshooting
Some members didn't receive the broadcast — A broadcast is sent only to people in the space you sent it from. Make sure you started in the program (top-level) space if you intended to reach everyone, and check whether you targeted Active/Interested or Pending members.
Replies are going to the wrong person — Broadcasts are sent from a manager's email address and members can reply to them. If your space has multiple managers, select the manager who should handle replies before sending.
You want to review before sending — Send a preview to Managers first, or use Save as draft so you can edit the broadcast before it goes out.
What's next
Once you're comfortable sending broadcasts, set up an automated welcome email for new registrants and explore other ways to keep members engaged in your space.
