You can create a Zap so that when a new member joins a space, they are automatically added to a newsletter campaign, but you can also do it the other way around so that once someone buys a product or sign up for a newsletter, they receive an invite to join a community or sign up for the program.
How to create an integration
Create an account on zapier.com
Then click on "Create Zap" on the left side menu:
Next, select Sutra in the apps list.
Select the event that will trigger the automation and click on "Continue"
Click on "Sign in" to connect your Sutra account with Zapier and click "Continue"
Select the Sutra space you want to connect the automation
Select the trigger type and click "Continue"
Search the platform you want to connect with Sutra:
Select the event you would like to automize once a member joins a Sutra space and click "Continue"
You can choose to Skip or Test the Zap immediately and it's done!
Troubleshooting
Sutra isn't showing your data in Zapier — make sure you completed the "Sign in" step to connect your Sutra account, then select the specific Sutra space you want the automation to watch.
The Zap isn't firing — confirm you chose the right trigger event (for example, a new member joining the space) and use Zapier's Test step to send a sample through before turning the Zap on.
Can't find the app you want to connect — search for it by name in the action step; Zapier supports over 5,000 apps, and you can run the flow in either direction — Sutra as the trigger or as the action.
What's next
With your first Zap live, test it end to end and then build the reverse flow if you need it — for example, adding new members to a newsletter, or inviting people who buy a product or subscribe elsewhere into your Sutra space.
