This Cookies Policy explains how we, our service providers, and (where applicable) the people who host spaces on Sutra use cookies and similar technologies, and the choices you have to control them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of data stored on your computer or other device when you load a website in a browser. They're widely used to "remember" you and your preferences, either for a single visit (a "session cookie") or across visits (a "persistent cookie"), and to perform essential functions such as keeping you signed in. Cookies may be set by the site you're visiting ("first-party cookies") or by third parties, such as the analytics providers we use ("third-party cookies"). Websites and emails may also use related technologies such as "web beacons" or "pixels" — typically small transparent images that provide statistics for similar purposes.
How we use cookies
We use cookies for a few purposes. Some are strictly necessary for technical reasons; others help us understand how the Services are used so we can improve them. Many cookies are set only if you're a registered Sutra user (so you don't have to sign in every time), while others are set whenever you visit, regardless of whether you have an account.

We set cookies across our Services, including on sutra.co, on registration and offering pages, and on the spaces and sites we host for our users.
Types of cookie
Strictly necessary
Required to operate the Services — these authenticate registered users, maintain your session, secure the Services, and remember basic preferences such as language and location. Examples include our authentication and session cookies (auth_user, sutra_session_token, sutra_custom_domain_session_token) and CSRF/security cookies.
Analytics and performance
These help us understand how the Services are used — which pages are visited, which features are used, and where errors occur — so we can improve them. They are set by our analytics and monitoring providers, currently Mixpanel and PostHog (product analytics) and Sentry (error monitoring).
Support and abuse prevention
These enable customer support and protect against bots and abuse. They are set by Gleap (support) and Google reCAPTCHA (bot and abuse detection).
Advertising
On our public marketing and blog pages, these help us measure marketing performance and show ads for Sutra to relevant audiences on other platforms (retargeting). They include pixels and cookies from advertising services such as Meta (Facebook) and LinkedIn. We use these primarily on our public marketing and blog pages (for example, sutra.co landing and blog pages), not inside the spaces you log in to use day to day.
A note on spaces and custom scripts. People who host spaces on Sutra can add their own scripts and tracking tools (for example, their own analytics or advertising pixels) to the spaces and pages they run. Those cookies are set by the space owner, are their responsibility, and are governed by that space owner's own privacy notice — not this policy. If you're a space owner who adds such tools, you're responsible for providing any required notice and obtaining any required consent.
Controlling cookies
You can restrict or block cookies through your browser settings (built-in controls or third-party plugins). If you disable cookies, some features of the Services may not work correctly. On a mobile device, you can adjust your settings to limit tracking.
