Use this automation when people who join one space should also be added to another space. For example, you might add everyone who registers for a program to a welcome circle, cohort space, resource library, or private discussion area.
Before you start
You need manager access to the space where the automation runs.
Create the destination space before building the automation.
Turn the automation on before people join. This action applies to people who enter the automation after it is active.
Add the automation step
Open the space where people first register or join.
Go to Manage, then open Automations.
Create or open the automation that starts when the person registers, joins, or matches the event you want to use.
Choose Add a step here.
Select Add person to a space.
Choose the destination space and save the step.
Add more Add person to a space steps if the person should enter multiple spaces.
Turn the automation Active when you are ready for it to run.
What happens next
When someone matches the starting event, Sutra runs the automation steps in order. If the Add person to a space action succeeds, the person becomes a member of the destination space.
Use the automation report to check whether the person entered the automation and whether the add-to-space step completed.
Troubleshooting
Existing members were not added. Automations usually do not apply retroactively. Add existing members manually or create a separate process for people who joined before the automation was active.
I cannot find the destination space. Confirm that the space exists and that you have permission to manage it. If it is nested or private, check that it is available from the space where the automation runs.
I do not see Add person to a space. Action availability can depend on the starting event, your permissions, and account automation access.
