Auto Ambassador rewards you when a member of your space later starts their own paid Sutra account. When you switch it on, Sutra automatically pays you a recurring commission on those subscriptions — there’s no link to share and nothing for your members to do. The commission is paid by Sutra, not by your members, and they never see any of it.
This is different from the Partner program, where other people promote your space and earn from your sales. With Auto Ambassador, you earn from Sutra when the people in your community become paying Sutra creators themselves.
Turn on Auto Ambassador
Go to Manage → Partners for the space you want, and toggle the Auto Ambassador card on. It’s set per space, so you can enable it only where it makes sense.
If your space has more than one manager, you can set a manager revenue split in Partner Settings so earnings divide between you. It has to add up to 100% and applies to new referrals.
How members qualify
A member of your space earns you commission when they later start their own paid Sutra account. To keep attribution fair, a few conditions apply (Sutra sets these defaults):
They must be an active member of your space.
They need to have joined at least 14 days before they upgrade, and within the last 12 months.
If someone belongs to several Auto Ambassador spaces, the space they joined earliest gets the credit. Each member is attributed once.
You don’t earn from your own spaces, spaces you manage, or from members on free trials or 100%-off plans — it has to be a paid Sutra account.
What you earn
By default you earn 25% of each paid Sutra invoice from an attributed member, for the life of their subscription.
Earnings accrue as each invoice is paid and become available to withdraw after a 60-day hold that covers refunds.
If a member’s payment is later refunded, the matching commission is reversed. If you’d already withdrawn it as credit, it’s adjusted on your account; if you’d taken it as cash, it’s netted against future earnings.
Getting paid
You’ll find your Auto Ambassador earnings under Settings → Affiliates → Sutra ambassador, in the “Automatic — from your spaces” section. You can withdraw a cleared balance two ways:
Sutra account credit (recommended) — applied to your next Sutra invoice. It’s instant, needs no tax form, and works in every country.
Cash to Stripe — sent to your connected Stripe account. You’ll need Stripe connected, and once your cash payouts approach $2,000 in a year we’ll ask for a quick tax form (W-9 in the US, W-8BEN internationally). Cash isn’t available in a few countries, including Australia.
Privacy
Your members never see the Auto Ambassador program. You only ever see referred members by their name in your space — never their private account details — and there’s nothing they need to do or agree to.
