Guest checkout lets someone pay for a paid space before they have fully signed in to Sutra. It reduces friction at checkout, then gives the buyer a way to claim access with the same email address they used to pay.
Before you start
The space must be a paid space with Stripe connected.
The buyer needs access to the email address used during checkout.
If the space also uses a registration page, checkout and registration still need to complete before membership becomes active.
How guest checkout works
A visitor opens the paid space or a shareable registration link.
Sutra sends them through checkout for the selected plan.
The buyer pays with an email address.
After payment succeeds, Sutra stores the purchase and access information.
The buyer claims access by signing in or creating an account with the same email address.
Claim access after paying
Open the space or the access link you received after checkout.
Sign in, or create a Sutra account.
Use the same email address you used for payment.
Return to the paid space.
Once the email matches the checkout record, Sutra can connect the paid enrollment to the account and show the space.
What happens next
After access is claimed, the buyer becomes a member of the paid space. If the payment is still pending, requires authentication, or the email address does not match, the buyer may continue to see checkout or sign-in prompts until the purchase can be matched.
Troubleshooting
If the buyer paid but cannot enter, check whether they signed in with a different email address.
If the payment required additional card authentication, the membership may stay pending until Stripe confirms it.
If the space has approval or registration steps, the buyer may still need to complete those steps after payment.
If the buyer entered the wrong email at checkout, the manager may need to help reconcile the payment and invitation.
