A registration flow controls what happens when someone registers, joins, or submits a contact form for a space. You can use automations to send the right message, collect a survey, set someone to Pending, add them to another space, wait before the next step, or branch the journey with conditions.
Before you start
You need manager access to edit the space.
Create any surveys, destination spaces, payment options, calendar events, or member properties you want to use in the flow.
Some actions depend on your account access or connected integrations.
Open the registration automation
Open the space where people register.
Go to Manage, then open Automations.
Create a new automation or open the existing registration automation for the space.
Choose the starting event, such as a person registering, joining, or submitting a contact form.
Choose what happens after registration
Add steps in the order you want them to run. Common registration flow steps include:
Send email, including a welcome message or confirmation instructions
Survey person on join, so registrants answer required questions
Set member status to pending, if registrations need approval
Add person to a space, such as a cohort, welcome area, or resource library
Wait, condition, webhook, direct message, calendar invite, member property update, or certificate issue steps when those actions are available
Reorder or edit steps
Open any step to change its settings. If the builder allows reordering, place steps in the exact order the registrant should experience them. For example, send an email before Pending status if the email explains that approval is required.
Be careful when editing an automation that is already active. Future registrants use the latest version, while people already in progress may continue from their saved step.
Troubleshooting
I do not see a step I expected. Some actions depend on the starting event, account access, or integration status. Survey person on join and Set member status to pending may only be available once in a flow.
A new registrant did not enter the flow. Confirm the automation was Active before they registered and that they matched the selected starting event.
I changed the flow and expected old registrations to update. Automation edits do not restart people who already completed the flow.
